Moon mistaken for UFO
July 25th, 2008The British newspaper the Telegraph recently featured an article highlighting the time wasted by unnecessary emergency 999 calls. They point to one ridiculously amusing call in which the caller was concerned about a large, stationary UFO, which, upon closer inspection, proved to be the moon. Read the full story here, the transcript is reproduced below:
Emergency Call:
Control: “South Wales Police, what’s your emergency?”
Caller: “It’s not really. I just need to inform you that across the mountain there’s a bright stationary object.”
Control: “Right.”
Caller: “If you’ve got a couple of minutes perhaps you could find out what it is? It’s been there at least half an hour and it’s still there.”
Control: “It’s been there for half an hour. Right. Is it actually on the mountain or in the sky?”
Caller: “It’s in the air.”
Control: “I will send someone up there now to check it out.”
Caller: “OK.”
When the patrol car arrived, the released police transcript reveals the exchange between the control room and the dispatched officer.
Control: “Alpha Zulu 20, this object in the sky, did anyone have a look at it?”
Officer: “Yes, it’s the moon. Over.”
The Irish Windchimes
July 20th, 2008Danny co founder of Leinster Paranormal

About 5 years ago I came up with an idea which has recently been christened “The Irish Windchimes” by a group from Kentucky. Its another idea for a trigger object - you get a jar, put windchimes in the jar and close it tight that way you get no draft - lets face it if ghosts can walk through walls they should easily effect the chimes through glass . You then ask out for the chimes to be moved etc. The reason why i am going down this route is i feel lately the field is getting bogged down with updating equipment and it seems to be taking longer to get into starting investigations.
If someone died 100 years ago would they know what a k2 or an emf meter was so I’m thinking to myself one night “they would know what a wind chime was…” etc.
If any teams want to try this out, please do and let us know how you get on
Experimental Noise & EVP Recording
July 18th, 2008Written By: Todd Bates
We have all heard of different noises that may play a key role in your EVP recordings. This educational article isn’t intended to make you believe or disbelieve. What you will read are personal accounts as well as documented experimentation in known haunted areas that coincide with the noises themselves. You can be the judge.
My use of experimental noise all started one day when the two words “white noise” came across my work with software. I was very interested in this noise and learning that it contained every audible sound known to the human ear and beyond just made me even more curious. I found that this noise wasn’t very “soothing” at all; I found it rather irritating. I had to find out if it had any positive potential with my EVP research. Some will call this noise a “mask” of deception, and it can be if not used in the proper way, but is there a proper way to use it? This is something we simply do not know, and the sharing of research in the paranormal community is unfortunately uncommon.
Ghostly images ‘haunt’ centre
July 11th, 2008From LimerickPost.ie - Exclusive by Marie Hobbins
A MYSTERIOUS ghostlike image has been spotted over an eight foot gate and shortly afterwards disappearing over the adjacent eight foot railings, at King’s Island Community Centre, St Mary’s Park..
Images have been captured on CCTV. Now, Garda John Delaney, supervisor in charge of the Garda Workshops Dept, is to be called in to investigate.
This writer witnessed the CCTV footage and can confirm that what appears initially to be a white beam, immediately transforms into a green shape that scales the high gate and crosses the Centre’s car park, in the direction of a side door.
