Ticking noises

We live in a 300 yr old farm house and had some strange happenings, as in, black shadows passing windows, horse cart comming into yard, waking in the middle of the night to voices down stairs people talking and laughter as if there was a party not very loud voices just mumbling, children playing and laughing outside when all our own children are in bed, and no other children around, my 2 yr old son running screaming crying from our room saying there was a monster man(old man) standing in the corner of the room, while sitting watching tv we would hear the car door open and close a few times. about 2 yrs ago we got “ghost hunt ireland” out to the house. Had not heard of you guys then:-( they stayed the night but sadly did not really pick much up, except for some photos with orbs in them, and also a slight movement of a glass on the table which we are not sure really happened. Anyway something new is going on, a few months ago while i was in bed reading i heard what sounded like a clock, but it was ticking much faster. when i walk to the wall its coming from it would suddenly move to another part of the room. if you walk to that wall it would move back. I thought at first it was just me hearing things until my children and husband heard it to. It does not only happen in the bedroom, however this is where it is heard most. sometimes it would be heard when we are in the sitting room.or even in the bathroom.
first thing that would come to mind is to record the ticking. Run a video camera or an audio recorder – the basic advantage is the camera etc can be the fly on the wall and give us a better idea of the sequence of events as these things happen. If it’s something you ever want to us to have a look at, just let us know.
Wouldnt worry too much about orbs or glasses moving – as in when people sit round a table with their hands on the glass. Both of those can be easily enough explained through dust/moisture and involuntary movement of the hand/fingers.

We have tried to record the ticking, sadly my camcorder gave up the ghost(excuse the pun) so we just used our phones which i know would not be a great recorder.
I agree with your explanation of the orbs and the glass moving on the table. it was just a slight movement so involuntary hand or finger movement would explain that.
Its the ticking sound that is the strange thing at the moment. there are possibly 3 different types of ticking, as in loud, soft, and a really fast one. and as i have mentioned, it would sometimes respond to us shouting at them to stop! I would really like to know if it Is something you know off or have heard about before?
